I went on a military expedition with Saeed bin al-As. He asked the people, "Which of you witnessed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"Hudhayfah replied, "I did. He prayed one rakah with one group while another group faced the enemy. Then the first group went and took the place of their companions facing the enemy, and the other group came and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one rakah with them, then gave the salam. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed two rakahs, and each group prayed one rakah."

غزوت مع سعيد بن العاص قال فسأل الناس من شهد منكم صلاة الخوف مع رسول الله ﷺ قال فقال حذيفة أنا صلى بطائفة من القوم ركعة وطائفة مواجهة العدو ثم ذهب هؤلاء فقاموا مقام أصحابهم مواجهو العدو وجاءت الطائفة الأخرى فصلى بهم رسول الله ﷺ ركعة ثم سلم فكان لرسول الله ﷺ ركعتان ولكل طائفة ركعة
