Rabi bin Harash reported,

I went to Hudhayfah at al-Madain during the days when the people had marched against Uthman. He said, "Rubai, what have your people done?"I asked, "About which of their affairs are you asking?"He said, "Which of them went out against this man?" So I named Some men among those who had gone out against him.He then said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever separates from the community and shows contempt for legitimate authority will meet Allah with no excuse before Him.'"

عن ربعى بن حراش قال

انطلقت إلى حذيفة بالمدائن ليالي سار الناس إلى عثمان فقال يا ربعي ما فعل قومك قال قلت عن أي بالهم تسأل قال من خرج منهم إلى هذا الرجل فسميت رجالا فيمن خرج إليه فقال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من فارق الجماعة واستذل الإمارة لقي الله عز وجل ولا وجه له عنده
