Hudhayfah entered the mosque and saw a man praying near the doors of Kindah. The man was not completing his bowing or his prostration. When he finished, Hudhayfah said to him, "How long have you been praying like this?"The man replied, "For forty years."Hudhayfah said to him, "You have not prayed for forty years, and if you had died praying this way, you would have died upon something other than the natural way of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him."Then Hudhayfah turned to him to teach him and said, "A man may shorten his prayer yet still complete the bowing and prostration."

دخل حذيفة المسجد فإذا رجل يصلي مما يلي أبواب كندة فجعل لا يتم الركوع ولا السجود فلما انصرف قال له حذيفة منذ كم هذه صلاتك قال منذ أربعين سنة قال فقال له حذيفة ما صليت من أربعين سنة ولو مت وهذه صلاتك لمت على غير الفطرة التي فطر عليها محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام قال ثم أقبل عليه يعلمه فقال إن الرجل ليخفف في صلاته وإنه ليتم الركوع والسجود
