I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The Romans will make a secure peace treaty with you. Then you will fight an enemy alongside them, and you will be granted victory, safety, and spoils. Then you will withdraw until you camp at a meadow with hillocks. There a man from the Christians will raise a cross and proclaim, 'The cross has triumphed.' A man from the Muslims will become enraged, rise against him, and shatter it. At that moment the Romans will commit treachery and gather for the great battle."

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول سيصالحكم الروم صلحا آمنا ثم تغزون وهم عدوا فتنصرون وتسلمون وتغنمون ثم تنصرفون حتى تنزلوا بمرج ذي تلول فيرفع رجل من النصرانية صليبا فيقول غلب الصليب فيغضب رجل من المسلمين فيقوم إليه فيدقه فعند ذلك تغدر الروم ويجمعون للملحمة
