The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the aqiqah, and he said, "I do not like disobedience," as though he disliked the name. Then he said, "Whoever has a child born to him and wishes to offer a sacrifice for his child, let him do so."
حدثنا إسحاق بن عيسى أخبرني مالك عن زيد بن أسلم
أن رسول الله ﷺ سئل عن العقيقة فقال لا أحب العقوق كأنه كره الاسم وقال من ولد له فأحب أن ينسك عن ولده فليفعل
