I said to Jundab, "I have pledged allegiance to these people," meaning Ibn Zubayr, "and they want me to go out with them to Syria."He said, "Hold back."I said, "They refuse."He said, "Ransom yourself with your wealth."I said, "They refuse anything but that I fight alongside them with the sword."Jundab said, "So-and-so told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'The murdered man will come on the Day of Resurrection bringing his killer with him and will say, "My Lord, ask this man why he killed me."'" Shuba said, "I think he said, 'So He will say, "Why did you kill him?" He will reply, "I killed him for the sake of the rule of so-and-so."'"Jundab said, "So beware of that."
Its isnad is sahih. Abu Imran Jawni is a very well-known and reliable narrator, whose name is Abdul-Malik bin Habib, and his hadith is found in all the major collections. Jundab, from whom he narrates, is Ibn Abdullah Bajali, a companion. The hadith was mentioned earlier at 16553.
