He saw Abdullah Ibn Zubayr leading them in prayer, gesturing with his palms when he stood up, when he bowed, when he prostrated, and when he rose to stand. He would stand and gesture with his hands.He said, "So I went to Ibn Abbas and said to him, 'I saw Ibn Zubayr perform a prayer the like of which I have not seen anyone else perform,'" and he described this gesture to him.Ibn Abbas replied, "If you wish to see the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then follow the prayer of Ibn Zubayr."
حدثنا قتيبة بن سعيد حدثنا ابن لهيعة عن ابن هبيرة
أنه رأى ابن الزبير عبد الله وصلى بهم يشير بكفيه حين يقوم وحين يركع وحين يسجد وحين ينهض للقيام فيقوم فيشير بيديه قال فانطلقت إلى ابن عباس فقلت له إني قد رأيت ابن الزبير صلى صلاة لم أر أحدا يصليها فوصف له هذه الإشارة فقال إن أحببت أن تنظر إلى صلاة رسول الله ﷺ فاقتد بصلاة ابن الزبير
