Some Companions of the Prophet ﷺ reported,

"Whoever repents to Allah a day before he dies, Allah will accept his repentance."He then related this hadith to another of the Prophet's ﷺ companions, who asked, "Did you hear this from him yourself?"I said, "Yes."He said, "Then I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever repents to Allah half a day before he dies, Allah will accept his repentance.'"Then still another of the Prophet's ﷺ companions related it to me and asked, "Did you hear this?"He said, "Yes."He said, "Then I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever repents to Allah one morning hour before he dies, Allah will accept his repentance.'"He then related it to another of the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who asked, "Did you hear this from him yourself?"He said, "Yes."He said, "Then I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever repents before the death rattle rises in his throat, Allah will accept his repentance.'"

حدثنا أسباط عن هشام بن سعد عن زيد بن أسلم عن عبد الرحمن بن البيلماني

عن بعض أصحاب النبي ﷺ يقول

من تاب إلى الله عز وجل قبل أن يموت بيوم قبل الله منه قال فحدثه رجلا من أصحاب النبي ﷺ آخر بهذا الحديث فقال أنت سمعت هذا منه قال قلت نعم قال فأشهد أني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من تاب إلى الله قبل أن يموت بنصف يوم قبل الله منه قال فحدثنيها رجل آخر من أصحاب النبي ﷺ فقال أنت سمعت هذا قال نعم قال فأشهد أني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من تاب إلى الله قبل أن يموت بضحوة قبل الله منه قال فحدثه رجلا آخر من أصحاب رسول الله ﷺ فقال أنت سمعت هذا منه قال نعم قال فأشهد أني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول من تاب قبل أن يغرغر نفسه قبل الله منه
