The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not set out on the day of Fitr until he had eaten, and on the day of Adha he would not eat until he returned and ate from his sacrifice.

كان رسول الله ﷺ لا يغدو يوم الفطر حتى يأكل ولا يأكل يوم الأضحى حتى يرجع فيأكل من أضحيته
