Burayda reported,

On the day of the Conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks.Umar said to him, "Messenger of Allah, I saw you do something today that you did not used to do."He replied, "I did it deliberately, Umar."

أن رسول الله ﷺ لما كان يوم الفتح فتح مكة توضأ ومسح على خفيه فقال له عمر رأيتك يا رسول الله صنعت اليوم شيئا لم تكن تصنعه قال عمدا صنعته يا عمر
