The Prophet ﷺ passed by him while he was praying and prolonging his prayer, or something to that effect, just before the Fajr prayer. The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Do not make this prayer like the Zuhr prayer with its prayers before and after. Place a separation between them."
حدثنا عبد الرزاق أخبرنا معمر عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن ثوبان
أن النبي ﷺ مر به وهو يصلي يطول صلاته أو نحو هذا بين يدي صلاة الفجر فقال له النبي ﷺ لا تجعلوا هذه مثل صلاة الظهر قبلها وبعدها اجعلوا بينهما فصلا
