Shahr bin Hawshab reported,

Among us, the people of the Ashari tribe, there was a man who had been a companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and had witnessed alongside him the noble and beautiful occasions.Awf said, "I believe he was called Malik, or Abu Malik."He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'I certainly know of certain people who are neither prophets nor martyrs, yet the prophets and martyrs will envy them for their station with Allah .'"

عن شهر بن حوشب قال

كان منا معشر الأشعريين رجل قد صاحب رسول الله ﷺ وشهد معه المشاهد الحسنة الجميلة قال عوف حسبت أنه يقال له مالك أو أبو مالك قال سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول لقد علمت أقواما ما هم بأنبياء ولا شهداء يغبطهم الأنبياء والشهداء بمكانهم من الله عز وجل
