Abu Zayd reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed through the homes of the Ansar and noticed the smell of roasting meat. He asked, "Who has done this?" or words to that effect, Ismail being uncertain of the exact wording.A man came out and said, "Messenger of Allah, meat is hard to come by on this day, so I hastened to slaughter my sacrifice."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then offer another."The man replied, "By Allah, I have nothing left but a young sheep, a jadha or a haml."He said, "Then sacrifice it, but no jadha will suffice for anyone after you."

حدثنا إسماعيل بن إبراهيم أخبرنا خالد عن أبي قلابة عن رجل من قومه قال خالد أحسبه عمرو بن بجدان

عن أبي زيد الأنصاري قال

مر رسول الله ﷺ بين دور الأنصار فوجد قتارا فقال من صنع هذا أو كما قال شك إسماعيل فخرج رجل فقال يا رسول الله هذا يوم اللحم فيه كريه وإني عجلت نسيكتي قال فأعد قال والله ما عندي إلا جذع أو حمل من الضأن قال فاذبحه ولا يجزئ جذع عن أحد بعدك
