Uwaymir, a man from Banu Ajlan, came to him and said, "Asim, what do you think of a man who finds another man with his wife? Should he kill him, in which case they will kill him in turn, or what should he do? Ask the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about this for me, Asim."So Asim asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked such questions and disapproved of them, until what he heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weighed heavily upon Asim.He then mentioned the meaning of Malik's hadith, except that he said, "He divorced her before the Prophet ﷺ commanded him to do so." He said, "His separation from her became the established practice for the Mutalaineen."

جاءه عويمر رجل من بني عجلان فقال يا عاصم أرأيت رجلا وجد مع امرأته رجلا أيقتله فيقتلوه أم كيف يصنع سل لي يا عاصم رسول الله ﷺ فسأل عاصم رسول الله ﷺ عن ذلك فكره رسول الله ﷺ المسائل وعابها حتى كبر على عاصم ما سمع من رسول الله ﷺ فذكر معنى حديث مالك إلا أنه قال فطلقها قبل أن يأمره النبي ﷺ قال فكان فراقه إياها سنة في المتلاعنين
