Miqdam bin Maadi reported,

Naji reported that he sat with Ubada bin Samit, Abu Darda, and Harith bin Muawiya al-Kindi, and they recalled the hadith of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.Abu Darda said to Ubada, "Ubada, what about the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in such-and-such expedition concerning the fifths?"Ubada said, Ishaq, meaning Ibn Isa, said in his version of the hadith, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led them in prayer during their expedition, facing a camel from the spoils. When he gave the salam, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, took a tuft of hair between his two fingertips, and said, "This is from your spoils. I have no share in it beyond my portion along with you, except for the fifth, and even the fifth is returned to you. So hand over the thread and the needle, and what is greater than that and what is smaller. Do not steal from the spoils, for misappropriation is fire and disgrace upon those who do it in this world and the next. Strive against people for the sake of Allah , whether near or far, and do not fear in Allah's cause the blame of any blamer. Establish the limits set by Allah whether at home or while traveling, and strive in the path of Allah, for jihad is one of the great gates of Paradise through which Allah delivers a person from anxiety and sorrow."

عن المقدام بن معدي كرب الكندي

أنه جلس مع عبادة بن الصامت وأبي الدرداء والحارث بن معاوية الكندي فتذاكروا حديث رسول الله ﷺ فقال أبو الدرداء لعبادة يا عبادة كلمات رسول الله ﷺ في غزوة كذا في شأن الأخماس فقال عبادة قال إسحاق يعني ابن عيسى في حديثه إن رسول الله ﷺ صلى بهم في غزوتهم إلى بعير من المقسم فلما سلم قام رسول الله ﷺ فتناول وبرة بين أنملتيه فقال إن هذه من غنائمكم وإنه ليس لي فيها إلا نصيبي معكم إلا الخمس والخمس مردود عليكم فأدوا الخيط والمخيط وأكبر من ذلك وأصغر لا تغلوا فإن الغلول نار وعار على أصحابه في الدنيا والآخرة وجاهدوا الناس في الله تبارك وتعالى القريب والبعيد ولا تبالوا في الله لومة لائم وأقيموا حدود الله في الحضر والسفر وجاهدوا في سبيل الله فإن الجهاد باب من أبواب الجنة عظيم ينجي الله تبارك وتعالى به من الهم والغم
