The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was often occupied, so whenever a migrant came to him, he would hand him over to one of us to teach him the Quran. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ handed over to me a man who stayed with me in my home. I gave him the same evening meal as my household, and I taught him the Quran.Once he went off to visit his family, and feeling that he owed me something, he gifted me a bow. I had never seen finer wood or a more beautiful curve. So I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "What do you think of it, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "A burning coal between your shoulders, whether you sling it or hang it around your neck."

كان رسول الله ﷺ يشغل فإذا قدم رجل مهاجر على رسول الله ﷺ دفعه إلى رجل منا يعلمه القرآن فدفع إلي رسول الله ﷺ رجلا وكان معي في البيت أعشيه عشاء أهل البيت فكنت أقرئه القرآن فانصرف انصرافة إلى أهله فرأى أن عليه حقا فأهدى إلي قوسا لم أر أجود منها عودا ولا أحسن منها عطفا فأتيت رسول الله ﷺ فقلت ما ترى يا رسول الله فيها قال جمرة بين كتفيك تقلدتها أو تعلقتها
