Walid bin Ubada bin Samit reported,

Ubayy, may Allah have mercy on him, gave me his final counsel, saying, "My son, I urge you to believe in destiny, both its good and its evil, for if you do not believe in it, Allah will admit you into the Fire."He continued, "I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, 'The first thing Allah created was the Pen. Then He said to it, Write.It asked, What shall I write?He said, Write what has been and what will be until the Hour comes.'"

الوليد بن عبادة بن الصامت قال

أوصاني أبي رحمه الله تعالى فقال يا بني أوصيك أن تؤمن بالقدر خيره وشره فإنك إن لم تؤمن أدخلك الله تبارك وتعالى النار قال وسمعت النبي ﷺ يقول أول ما خلق الله تبارك وتعالى القلم ثم قال له اكتب قال وما أكتب قال فاكتب ما يكون وما هو كائن إلى أن تقوم الساعة
