The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us intending to inform us about Laylat al-Qadr, but two men were quarreling. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I came out intending to tell you about Laylat al-Qadr, but two men were quarreling, so it was taken away. Perhaps that is better for you. So seek it on the ninth, the seventh, or the fifth."
حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي عن حميد عن أنس
خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ وهو يريد أن يخبرنا بليلة القدر فتلاحى رجلان فقال رسول الله ﷺ خرجت وأنا أريد أن أخبركم بليلة القدر فتلاحى رجلان فرفعت وعسى أن يكون خيرا لكم فالتمسوها في التاسعة أو السابعة أو الخامسة
