Abu Qatada came out to us while we were saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said such and such, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said such and such."He said, "May your faces be disfigured! Do you realize what you are saying? I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Whoever attributes to me what I did not say, let him take his seat in the Fire.'"Affan said, "Muhammad bin Kaab also said this to me."
