The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the first two rakats of Dhuhr and Asr the opening of the Book and a surah, and at times he would let us hear a verse. In the last two rakats he would recite the opening of the Book.
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون أخبرنا همام بن يحيى وأبان بن يزيد عن يحيى بن أبي كثير
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في الركعتين الأوليين من الظهر والعصر بفاتحة الكتاب وسورة ويسمعنا الآية أحيانا ويقرأ في الركعتين الأخريين بفاتحة الكتاب
