He hunted a wild donkey, then they asked the Prophet ﷺ about it while he was in the state of ihram. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Do you have any of it left?"Shuba said, "I asked him about it again later, and he said, 'Do you have any of it left?'"He said, "So he ate it," or he said, "So eat it."I said to Shuba, "Does this mean he said there is no harm in it?"He answered, "Yes."

أنه أصاب حمار وحش فسألوا النبي ﷺ وهو محرم فقال النبي ﷺ أبقي معكم منه شيء قال شعبة ثم سألته بعد فقال أبقي معكم منه شيء قال فأكله أو قال فكلوه فقلت لشعبة معنى قوله لا بأس به قال نعم

Its isnad is sahih. He is not an unknown man, but rather he named him "the freed slave of Abu Qatada," who is Nafi, mentioned previously. The hadith has appeared before at 22511.
