When the verses concerning silver and gold were revealed, the companions asked, "What kind of wealth, then, should we acquire?"Umar said, "I will find that out for you."He sped off on a camel and caught up with the Prophet, with me following behind him. Umar asked, "Messenger of Allah, what kind of wealth should we acquire?"He replied, "Let each of you acquire a grateful heart, a tongue that remembers Allah, and a wife who helps him in the matter of the Hereafter."
حدثنا وكيع حدثني عبد الله بن عمرو بن مرة عن أبيه عن سالم بن أبي الجعد
لما نزل في الفضة والذهب ما نزل قالوا فأي المال نتخذ قال عمر أنا أعلم ذلك لكم قال فأوضع على بعير فأدركه وأنا في أثره فقال يا رسول الله أي المال نتخذ قال ليتخذ أحدكم قلبا شاكرا ولسانا ذاكرا وزوجة تعينه على أمر الآخرة
