When the verse "those who hoard gold and silver and do not spend it in the way of Allah" [Tawbah 9:34] was revealed, the narrator said, we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on one of his journeys.Some of his companions said, "What has been revealed about gold and silver has now been revealed. If only we knew which kind of wealth is best, we would acquire it."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "The best of it is a tongue that remembers Allah, a grateful heart, and a believing wife who helps him in his faith."

لما أنزلت {الذين يكنزون الذهب والفضة ولا ينفقونها في سبيل الله} قال كنا مع رسول الله ﷺ في بعض أسفاره فقال بعض أصحابه قد نزل في الذهب والفضة ما نزل فلو أنا علمنا أي المال خير اتخذناه فقال أفضله لسانا ذاكرا وقلبا شاكرا وزوجة مؤمنة تعينه على إيمانه
