I asked Abu Aliyah, "Who was Thawban?"He replied, "He was a freed slave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who will guarantee me that he will not ask anyone for anything, and I will guarantee him Paradise?"Thawban said, "I will."So he never asked anyone for anything.
