I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "My basin stretches from Aden to Amman of Balqa. Its water is whiter than milk and sweeter than honey, and its drinking cups are as numerous as the stars. Whoever drinks a single sip from it will never thirst again. The first people to come to it will be the poor among the Emigrants."Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, asked, "Who are they, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "They are the ones with disheveled hair and soiled clothes, who do not marry pampered women and for whom the gates of the powerful are not opened."Umar bin Abdul-Aziz then said, "I have indeed married pampered women, and the gates have been opened for me, unless Allah shows me mercy. By Allah, I am bound not to oil my head until it becomes disheveled, nor wash the garment that touches my body until it grows soiled."
حدثنا حسين بن محمد حدثنا ابن عياش عن محمد بن المهاجر عن العباس بن سالم اللخمي قال بعث عمر بن عبد العزيز إلى أبي سلام الحبشي فحمل إليه على البريد يسأله عن الحوض فقدم به عليه فسأله فقال سمعت
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول إن حوضي من عدن إلى عمان البلقاء ماؤه أشد بياضا من اللبن وأحلى من العسل وأكاويبه عدد النجوم من شرب منه شربة لم يظمأ بعدها أبدا أول الناس ورودا عليه فقراء المهاجرين فقال عمر بن الخطاب رضي الله تعالى عنه من هم يا رسول الله قال هم الشعث رءوسا الدنس ثيابا الذين لا ينكحون المتنعمات ولا تفتح لهم أبواب السدد فقال عمر بن عبد العزيز لقد نكحت المتنعمات وفتحت لي السدد إلا أن يرحمني الله والله لا جرم أن لا أدهن رأسي حتى يشعث ولا أغسل ثوبي الذي يلي جسدي حتى يتسخ
