The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Quraysh, "This authority will remain with you, and you will be its custodians, so long as you do not introduce wrongdoing. But if you do, Allah will set the worst of His creation over you, and they will strip you bare as a rod is stripped of its bark."

قال رسول الله ﷺ لقريش إن هذا الأمر لا يزال فيكم وأنتم ولاته ما لم تحدثوا فإذا فعلتم ذلك سلط الله عليكم شرار خلقه والتحوكم كما يلتحى القضيب
