I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say in his sermon during the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, "Allah has given every person with a right his due, so there is no bequest for an heir. The child belongs to the bed, and for the fornicator is the stone. Their reckoning is with Allah. Whoever claims descent from someone other than his father, or attaches himself to people other than his masters, upon him is the curse of Allah that follows him until the Day of Resurrection. A woman must not spend anything from her household except with her husband's permission."It was asked, "Messenger of Allah, not even food?"He replied, "That is the most valuable of our possessions."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A borrowed item must be returned, a gift loaned for use must be given back, a debt must be repaid, and a guarantor is liable."
