The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Wear white clothing, for it is among the best of your garments, and shroud your dead in it. And among the best of your kohls is ithmid, for it brightens the eyesight and makes the lashes grow."
حدثنا علي قال أخبرنا عبد الله بن عثمان بن خثيم عن سعيد بن جبير
قال رسول الله ﷺ البسوا من ثيابكم البياض فإنها من خير ثيابكم وكفنوا فيها موتاكم وإن من خير أكحالكم الإثمد يجلو البصر وينبت الشعر
Its isnad is sahih. The first part of it, concerning whiteness, is in al-Muntaqa 1803, where it is attributed to Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah, and it says, "Tirmidhi graded it sahih." The second part of it, concerning kohl, has already appeared in similar wording at 2047. The hadith with both its parts is in al-Jami al-Saghir 6012, where it is attributed to Ibn Majah, Tabarani, and Hakim.
