People say Malik bin Dinar is an ascetic, meaning Malik bin Dinar. The true ascetic is rather Umar bin Abdul-Aziz, to whom the world came and he abandoned it.

Its isnad is daif. Fitr bin Hammad, that is, Ibn Waqid, there is some discussion about him and he is acceptable, but his father is daif. Ibn Main declared him daif, and Bukhari and others rejected his narrations.In any case, this is not a hadith at all, but rather a statement of Malik bin Dinar. His statement is sound and beyond dispute, for asceticism is not found in the absence of worldly possessions, but rather in possessing worldly things while remaining detached from them.
