The Prophet ﷺ said, "Shall I inform you of the gates of goodness? Fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire, and the servant's standing in prayer during the night."Then he recited, "Their sides forsake their beds" [Sajdah 32:16] to the end of the verse.
حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي حدثنا سريج حدثنا حماد يعني ابن سلمة عن عاصم بن بهدلة عن شهر بن حوشب
أن النبي ﷺ قال سأنبئك بأبواب من الخير الصوم جنة والصدقة تطفئ الخطيئة كما يطفئ الماء النار وقيام العبد من الليل ثم قرأ {تتجافى جنوبهم عن المضاجع} إلى آخر الآية
