Muaz bin Jabal reported,

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "You will migrate to Sham and it will be conquered for you. A disease will appear among you resembling a boil or a burning sore, striking a man in his groin. Through it Allah will grant you martyrdom and purify your deeds.O Allah, if You know that Muaz bin Jabal heard this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then grant him and his household the largest share of it."The plague then struck them, and not one of them survived. He himself was afflicted with it in his index finger, and he used to say, "I would not exchange it for the finest of red camels."

حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي حدثنا أبو أحمد الزبيري حدثنا مسرة بن معبد عن إسماعيل بن عبيد الله قال قال

معاذ بن جبل

سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول ستهاجرون إلى الشام فيفتح لكم ويكون فيكم داء كالدمل أو كالحرة يأخذ بمراق الرجل يستشهد الله به أنفسهم ويزكي بها أعمالهم اللهم إن كنت تعلم أن معاذ بن جبل سمعه من رسول الله ﷺ فأعطه هو وأهل بيته الحظ الأوفر منه فأصابهم الطاعون فلم يبق منهم أحد فطعن في أصبعه السبابة فكان يقول ما يسرني أن لي بها حمر النعم
