He related from the Prophet ﷺ that he mounted one day a donkey of his called Yafur, whose halter was made of palm fiber. Then he said, "Mount, Muaz."I said, "Go ahead, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Mount."So I rode behind him, and the donkey threw us to the ground. The Prophet ﷺ got up laughing, while I got up feeling distressed within myself. Then it happened a second time, then a third. Then he mounted and the donkey carried us along. He reached back with his hand and struck my back with a whip he had with him, or a stick, then said, "Muaz, do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants?"I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He said, "The right of Allah upon His servants is that they worship Him and not associate anything with Him."He went on as long as Allah willed, then again reached back with his hand and struck my back, and said, "Muaz, son of the mother of Muaz, do you know what is the right of the servants upon Allah if they do that?"I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best."He said, "The right of the servants upon Allah, if they do that, is that He admit them into Paradise."
