They set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of Tabuk, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would combine the Zuhr and Asr prayers, and the Maghrib and Isha prayers.One day he delayed the prayer, then came out and prayed Zuhr and Asr together. Then he went back inside, came out again, and prayed Maghrib and Isha together.Then he said, "Tomorrow, Allah willing, you will reach the spring of Tabuk, but you will not arrive there until well after sunrise. Whoever reaches it must not touch any of its water until I arrive."When we came to it, two men had reached it before us, and the spring was trickling with a tiny amount of water, no wider than a sandal strap.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them, "Have you touched any of its water?"They replied, "Yes."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rebuked them and said to them whatever Allah willed him to say.Then the people scooped from the spring with their hands, little by little, until a small amount collected in a vessel. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his face and hands in it, then poured it back into the spring. The spring then gushed forth with abundant water, and the people drank their fill.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Muaz, if your life is prolonged, you will soon see this place filled with gardens."
حدثنا عبد الله حدثني أبي قال قرأت على عبد الرحمن بن مهدي حدثنا مالك عن أبي الزبير المكي عن أبي الطفيل عامر بن واثلة أن
أنهم خرجوا مع رسول الله ﷺ عام تبوك فكان رسول الله ﷺ يجمع بين الظهر والعصر والمغرب والعشاء قال وأخر الصلاة ثم خرج فصلى الظهر والعصر جميعا ثم دخل ثم خرج فصلى المغرب والعشاء جميعا ثم قال إنكم ستأتون غدا إن شاء الله عين تبوك وإنكم لن تأتوا بها حتى يضحى النهار فمن جاء فلا يمس من مائها شيئا حتى آتي فجئنا وقد سبقنا إليها رجلان والعين مثل الشراك تبض بشيء من ماء فسألهما رسول الله ﷺ هل مسستما من مائها شيئا فقالا نعم فسبهما رسول الله ﷺ وقال لهما ما شاء الله أن يقول ثم غرفوا بأيديهم من العين قليلا قليلا حتى اجتمع في شيء ثم غسل رسول الله ﷺ فيه وجهه ويديه ثم أعاده فيها فجرت العين بماء كثير فاستقى الناس ثم قال رسول الله ﷺ يوشك يا معاذ إن طالت بك حياة أن ترى ماء هاهنا قد ملأ جنانا
