Its isnad is sahih, its narrators being well-known and reliable.The meaning of the hadith is that the minimum threshold for cattle is thirty, in which case one tabee (a one-year-old calf) is due, and there is nothing due beyond the tabee until it reaches forty. The waqs is what falls below the threshold and what lies between the two thresholds. There is no obligation to give sheep in this case, as there is with camels.See 21918.
