The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, "On the night I was taken on the night journey, I saw Musa bin Imran, a tall, dark-skinned man with curly hair, as though he were one of the men of Shanuah. And I saw Isa, son of Maryam, peace be upon them, of medium build, his complexion between red and white, with straight hair."
Its isnad is sahih. Bukhari related it in 6:226 and Muslim in 1:60, in a longer form than here. See Durr Manthur 4:152.Adam: brown-skinned (dark-complexioned).Tiwal, with damma on the ta and a light waw, means tall.Shanuah, with fatha on the shin, damma on the nun, and a hamza after the waw, refers to a tribe from Yemen, who trace their lineage to Shanuah, who was Abdullah bin Kaab bin Abdullah bin Malik bin Nasr bin Azd. He was nicknamed Shanuah because of an aversion (shanaan) that existed between him and his family, as Hafiz mentioned in Fath al-Bari 6:307.Sabt, referring to hair, with a silent ba, means straight and flowing.
