While we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, three men passed by. One of them came forward, found a gap in the circle, and sat down in it. The second sat down behind the gathering. The third turned away and left.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I tell you about these three men?"They replied, "Yes, Messenger of Allah."He said, "As for the one who came forward and sat down, he sought refuge with Allah, so Allah gave him refuge. As for the one who sat behind you, he felt shy, so Allah was shy with him. But as for the one who turned away, he turned his back, so Allah turned away from him."

بينما نحن مع رسول الله ﷺ إذ مر ثلاثة نفر فجاء أحدهم فوجد فرجة في الحلقة فجلس وجلس الآخر من ورائهم وانطلق الثالث فقال رسول الله ﷺ ألا أخبركم بخبر هؤلاء النفر قالوا بلى يا رسول الله قال أما الذي جاء فجلس فأوى فآواه الله والذي جلس من ورائكم فاستحى فاستحى الله منه وأما الذي انطلق رجل أعرض فأعرض الله عنه
Its isnad is sahih. Ishaq bin Abdullah bin Abu Talha is reliable, and his hadiths are found in all six major collections. Abu Murrah is the freedman of Aqeel bin Abu Talib, and his name is Yazid. He is also reliable, and his hadiths are found in all six major collections. The hadith was narrated by Muslim with similar wording, 4/1713, number 2176, in the Book of Greetings, "Whoever comes to a gathering where there is a space." Bukhari narrated something similar, 1/156, number 66, Fath, in the Book of Knowledge, "Whoever sits wherever the gathering ends." And Tirmidhi, 12/98, number 2724, said, hasan sahih.
