The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that a traveler may wipe over his leather socks for three days and nights, and a resident for one day and night.

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Abdullah Jadali, whose name is disputed, is a reliable narrator among the trustworthy of the successors. Ibrahim is Nakhai, Ibn Yazid, and Hammad is Ibn Salama. The hadith has already appeared at 18012 in fuller form, narrated from Safwan bin Assal Muradi.
