I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as part of a delegation who considered me the most distinguished among them. I said, "Messenger of Allah, we claim that you are from us."He replied, "We are the descendants of Nadr bin Kinanah. We do not impugn our mother, nor do we disown our father."Ashath used to say, "No man shall be brought before me who denies that Quraysh descend from Nadr bin Kinanah without my flogging him with the prescribed punishment."
