Saad bin Abu Waqqas reported,

He asked Usama bin Zayd what he had heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the plague.Usama replied, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'It is a punishment sent upon a group of the Children of Israil, or upon a group of those who came before you,'" the doubt being from the narrator. "'So when you hear of it in a land, do not approach it, and when it breaks out in a land where you are, do not leave fleeing from it.'"Abu Nadr said in his version, "Let nothing drive you out except fleeing from it."

عن عامر بن سعد بن أبي وقاص عن أبيه

أنه سأل أسامة بن زيد ماذا سمعت من رسول الله ﷺ في الطاعون فقال أسامة سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول رجز أرسل على طائفة من بني إسرائيل أو على طائفة ممن كان قبلكم الشك في الحديث فإذا سمعتم به بأرض فلا تقدموا عليه وإذا وقع بأرض وأنتم بها فلا تخرجوا فرارا منه قال أبو النضر في حديثه لا يخرجكم إلا فرارا منه
