Usama bin Zayd reported,

He set out with Usama to Wadi al-Qura to collect some property of his. He used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays.His freed slave said to him, "Why do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays when you are an old man who has grown frail?"He replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to fast on Mondays and Thursdays, and when he was asked about it, he said, 'The deeds of people are presented on Mondays and Thursdays.'"

عن مولى أسامة بن زيد

أنه انطلق مع أسامة إلى وادي القرى يطلب مالا له وكان يصوم يوم الاثنين ويوم الخميس فقال له مولاه لم تصوم يوم الاثنين والخميس وأنت شيخ كبير قد رققت قال إن رسول الله ﷺ كان يصوم يوم الاثنين ويوم الخميس فسئل عن ذلك فقال إن أعمال الناس تعرض يوم الاثنين ويوم الخميس
