The Messenger of Allah ﷺ vomited and broke his fast.The narrator said, "I met Thawban in the mosque of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and asked him about this."Thawban replied, "I was the one who poured out the water for the Messenger of Allah's ﷺ ablution."
حدثنا إسماعيل أنا هشام عن يحيى بن أبي كثير عن يعيش بن الوليد بن هشام عن معدان أو معدان
أن رسول الله ﷺ قاء فأفطر قال فلقيت ثوبان في مسجد رسول الله ﷺ فسألته عن ذلك فقال أنا صببت لرسول الله ﷺ وضوءه
Its isnad is sahih. Yaish bin Walid bin Hisham Dimashqi Umawi was deemed trustworthy by Ajli, Nasai, and Ibn Hibban. And Madan is Ibn Abu Talha Himsi, one of the trustworthy Followers.The hadith was narrated by Abu Dawud 2/321 no. 2381, and Darimi 2/14, under "Fasting, Vomiting for the Fasting Person." But some people interpreted it as referring to voluntary fasting.
