Zayd bin Khalid reported,

"Tonight I will closely watch the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." So I lay down using his threshold, or his tent, as a pillow.He prayed two light rakahs, then prayed two long rakahs, then prayed two rakahs shorter than the two before them, then prayed two rakahs shorter than the two before them, then prayed two rakahs shorter than the two before them, then prayed two rakahs shorter than the two before them, then prayed witr. That makes thirteen.Abdullah said, Musab narrated to us, Malik narrated to me from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr from his father that Abdullah bin Qays bin Makhrama informed him from Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani, and he mentioned the hadith. He did not mention Abdul-Rahman in Malik's hadith from his father. The correct version is what Musab related from his father.Likewise, Abu Musa al-Ansari narrated to us, Maan narrated to us, Malik narrated to us from Abdullah bin Abu Bakr from his father that Abdullah bin Qays bin Makhrama informed him from Zayd bin Khalid al-Juhani.The correct version is what Musab and Maan said from his father, and Abdul-Rahman was not mentioned in it from his father. There is an error here.

قال قرأت على عبد الرحمن: مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر أن عبد الله بن قيس أخبره

عن زيد بن خالد الجهني أنه قال

لأرمقن الليلة صلاة رسول الله ﷺ فتوسدت عتبته أو فسطاطه فصلى ركعتين خفيفتين ثم صلى ركعتين طويلتين ثم صلى ركعتين وهما دون اللتين قبلهما ثم صلى ركعتين دون اللتين قبلهما ثم صلى ركعتين دون اللتين قبلهما ثم صلى ركعتين دون اللتين قبلهما ثم أوتر فذلك ثلاث عشرة قال عبد الله وحدثنا مصعب حدثني مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر عن أبيه أن عبد الله بن قيس بن مخرمة أخبره عن زيد بن خالد الجهني فذكر الحديث ولم يذكر عبد الرحمن في حديث مالك عن أبيه والصواب ما روى مصعب عن أبيه وكذا حدثنا أبو موسى الأنصاري حدثنا معن حدثنا مالك عن عبد الله بن أبي بكر عن أبيه أن عبد الله بن قيس بن مخرمة أخبره عن زيد بن خالد الجهني والصواب ما قال مصعب ومعن عن أبيه ولم يذكر عبد الرحمن فيه عن أبيه وهم فيه
