I passed by the Prophet of Allah ﷺ while he was eating dates for his pre-dawn meal. He said, "Come and eat."I replied, "I intend to fast."He said, "And I intend the same as you."So we ate, then we rose for the prayer. Between the time we finished eating and the time we stood for the prayer was about as long as it takes a man to recite fifty verses.
حدثنا حسن بن موسى حدثنا أبو هلال حدثنا قتادة عن أنس بن مالك
مررت بنبي الله ﷺ وهو يتسحر يأكل تمرا فقال تعال فكل فقلت إني أريد الصوم فقال وأنا أريد ما تريد فأكلنا ثم قمنا إلى الصلاة فكان بين ما أكلنا وبين أن قمنا إلى الصلاة قدر ما يقرأ الرجل خمسين آية
