When we were copying the manuscripts of the Quran, I missed a verse from Surah al-Ahzab that I used to hear the Prophet ﷺ reciting. I searched for it and could not find it with anyone except Khuzayma bin Thabit al-Ansari, the one whose testimony the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had made equal to the testimony of two men. The verse was Allah's saying, "Among the believers are men who have been true to their covenant with Allah" [Ahzab 33:23].
حدثنا عبد الله قال وجدت هذا الحديث في كتاب أبي بخط يده حدثنا الحكم بن نافع أنا شعيب عن الزهري أخبرني خارجة بن زيد أن
لما نسخنا المصاحف فقدت آية من سورة الأحزاب قد كنت أسمع النبي ﷺ يقرأ بها فالتمستها فلم أجدها مع أحد إلا مع خزيمة بن ثابت الأنصاري الذي جعل رسول الله ﷺ شهادته شهادة رجلين قول الله عز وجل {من المؤمنين رجال صدقوا ما عاهدوا الله عليه}
Its isnad is sahih, its narrators are trustworthy and well known. Bukhari related the hadith 4/24, in the book of jihad, on the saying of Allah "Among the believers are men", and Tirmidhi related it in the tafsir 5/284, number 3104, in the tafsir of Surah Tawbah, and he said, hasan sahih.
