Zayd bin Thabit reported,

Zayd reported, "I used to write for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said, 'Write, "Not equal are those believers who sit at home and those who strive in the cause of Allah".'Then Abdullah Ibn Umm Maktum came and said, 'Messenger of Allah, I love to strive in the cause of Allah, but I have a disability, as you can see, and I have lost my sight.'"Zayd continued, "The thigh of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ then pressed down upon my thigh so heavily that I feared it would crush it. Then he said, 'Write, "Not equal are those believers who sit at home, except those who have a disability, and those who strive in the cause of Allah"' [Nisa 4:95]."

عن زيد بن ثابت قال

كنت أكتب لرسول الله ﷺ فقال اكتب لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين والمجاهدون في سبيل الله فجاء عبد الله ابن أم مكتوم فقال يا رسول الله إني أحب الجهاد في سبيل الله ولكن بي من الزمانة وقد ترى وذهب بصري قال زيد فثقلت فخذ رسول الله ﷺ على فخذي حتى خشيت أن ترضها فقال اكتب {لا يستوي القاعدون من المؤمنين غير أولي الضرر والمجاهدون في سبيل الله}
