Someone said to Abu Dharr, when he had been exiled from Sham, "I would like to ask you about a hadith from the hadiths of the Prophet ﷺ."Abu Dharr replied, "Then I will tell you, unless it concerns a private matter."The man said, "It is not private. Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ use to shake hands with you when you met him?"Abu Dharr answered, "I never met him without his shaking my hand. One day he sent for me when I was not at home. When I returned and was told of his messenger, I went to him. He was on a couch of his, and he embraced me, and that was finer still, and finer."

لأبي ذر حين سير من الشام قال إني أريد أن أسألك عن حديث من حديث النبي ﷺ قال إذن أخبرك به إلا أن يكون سرا فقلت إنه ليس سرا هل كان رسول الله ﷺ يصافحكم إذا لقيتموه فقال ما لقيته قط إلا صافحني وبعث إلي يوما ولست في البيت فلما جئت أخبرت برسوله فأتيته وهو على سرير له فالتزمني فكانت أجود وأجود
