Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what about a man who does a good deed and people praise him and commend him for it?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "That is the immediate good news given to the believer."
حدثنا بهز حدثنا حماد حدثنا أبو عمران الجوني عن عبد الله بن الصامت
يا رسول الله الرجل يعمل العمل فيحمده الناس عليه ويثنون عليه به فقال رسول الله ﷺ تلك عاجل بشرى المؤمن
Its isnad is sahih. It appears in Muslim 4/2024, no. 2642, in the Book of Righteousness, chapter "If Praise Is Given to the Righteous," and in Ibn Majah 2/1412, no. 4225, in the Book of Asceticism, chapter "Good Praise."
