Ubaydullah bin Ziyad delayed the prayer, so I asked Abdullah bin Samit about it. He struck my thigh and said, "I asked my dear friend Abu Dharr about this, and he struck my thigh and said, 'I asked my dear friend,' meaning the Prophet ﷺ, 'and he said, "Pray the prayer at its proper time. Then if you catch the congregational prayer, pray with them, and do not say, 'I have already prayed, so I will not pray.'"'"

أخر عبيد الله بن زياد الصلاة فسألت عبد الله بن الصامت فضرب فخذي قال سألت خليلي أبا ذر فضرب فخذي وقال سألت خليلي يعني النبي ﷺ فقال صل الصلاة لميقاتها فإن أدركت فصل معهم ولا تقولن إني قد صليت فلا أصلي
