Its chain of transmission is daif because of Kharija bin Musab. As for Muhammad bin Muthanna Anazi, he is trustworthy, reliable, and well known among the major hadith scholars.The hadith was likewise graded daif by Iraqi in his commentary on al-Ihya. See al-Ithaf 7/268, where he attributed it to Ibn Majah and Tirmidhi.
