I said to Ubayy bin Kaab, "Abu al-Mundhir, tell me about Laylat al-Qadr, for our companion, meaning Ibn Masud, when asked about it, used to say, 'Whoever stands in prayer the whole year will catch it.'"He replied, "May Allah have mercy on Abu Abdul-Rahman. By Allah, he knew well that it falls in Ramadan, but he disliked that people should rely on that and abandon striving. It is the night of the twenty-seventh," and he said this without any reservation.I said, "Abu al-Mundhir, how did you know that?"He answered, "By the sign which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ told us about. On the morning following Laylat al-Qadr, the sun rises without rays, like a basin, until it climbs higher."This is the wording of the hadith of al-Muqaddami.

قلت لأبي بن كعب أبا المنذر أخبرني عن ليلة القدر فإن صاحبنا يعني ابن مسعود كان إذا سئل عنها قال من يقم الحول يصبها فقال يرحم الله أبا عبد الرحمن أما والله لقد علم أنها في رمضان ولكن أحب أن لا يتكلوا وإنها ليلة سبع وعشرين لم يستثن قلت أبا المنذر أنى علمت ذلك قال بالآية التي قال لنا رسول الله ﷺ صبحة ليلة القدر تطلع الشمس لا شعاع لها كأنها طست حتى ترتفع وهذا لفظ حديث المقدمي
